MUMBAI: A tragic incident occurred in Mulund East on Tuesday when a 5-year-old boy, while playing, accidentally got trapped inside a car parked in a garage and suffocated to death. The child was playing with his father, who runs a paan bidi shop in Mhada Colony.
The boy, whose identity has not been revealed, was reportedly playing near a garage close to his father’s shop. According to the police, the child entered a Honda car around 3:00 PM, but was unable to open the door from inside. The father, who had been sleeping at the shop, later realized his son was missing. After searching the area, he found the boy unconscious inside the car. Despite being rushed to Veer Savarkar Hospital, the boy was declared dead on arrival.
The boy lived with his parents and older brother in Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Navghar. The police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination to investigate further. The Navghar police are treating the case as an accidental death.
