A 50-year-old government officer employed with Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corp Ltd in Bengaluru was found dead by suicide at his home in Shivamogga on Sunday. In a six-page note, Chandrashekaran P accused senior officers of coercing him to create a parallel bank account to divert unaccounted funds from the primary account.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death but have not yet acknowledged the contents of the note.
Shivamogga BJP MLA SN Channabasappa revealed the note during a press conference on Monday. According to the note, Channabasappa stated that the corporation had a total grant of Rs 187.3 crore in various accounts, of which approximately Rs 85 crore had been transferred and “allegedly looted.”
