New Delhi: A 20-year-old man, Govinda Parmane, has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend after an argument over drinking alcohol in southwest Delhi’s Palam area. Parmane was caught in southeast Delhi.
Police received a call on Tuesday about a body found in a house in Palam. “The call was made by the house owner, Raju.
He said to Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Rohit Meena that he found a boy lying in a pool of blood in the gallery when he returned home.
The victim, identified as Nitesh, was last seen with Parmane, who is Raju’s tenant. Police arrested Parmane based on a technical investigation.
Parmane told the police that Nitesh came to his room with his female friend on the night of the incident. He also confessed that they had alcohol together, and at 4 am, Govinda asked Nitesh to leave because he wanted to sleep. The officer said that Nitesh had gotten angry then and called to meet in the lane below his room.
Fearing a confrontation, Govinda had two knives when he was with him. Nitesh suddenly slapped Govinda and started beating him when they met, and the officer said that Govinda chased Nitesh and stabbed him to death.
The police have recovered the two knives used in the crime and reported that the accused was a drug addict.
