A 28-year-old woman from Jalalpur Hasna in Bijnor was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing her four-year-old son and attempting to burn his body in a chulha, reports Harveer Dabas.
The tragic incident occurred while the boy’s father was working in the fields. “I was shocked when I saw my wife burning our child. She first hacked my son’s neck with a spade and then tried to burn him in a chulha,” he recounted.
Adesh Devi’s brother claimed his sister has “learning difficulties” and is currently undergoing treatment. Bijnor Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun stated that the woman has been placed in judicial custody. “The boy’s body has been sent to the district hospital for an autopsy,” he added.
