LUCKNOW: A woman passenger scheduled to board a flight to Mumbai was booked by Lucknow police after allegedly attacking and biting the wrist of an airline ground crew member at Lucknow airport.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when passengers of flight Q were boarding the plane, which was scheduled to take off at 5:25 pm. An FIR was lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station.
Shailendra Giri, the station house officer of Sarojini Nagar, explained, “The woman was under stress and not in a sound state of mind. After boarding the flight, she had a heated argument with fellow passengers. When the flight crew attempted to calm the situation, she again lost her temper. Later, the ground staff was called to deboard her.”
“While being deboarded from the aircraft by the airline ground crew, the woman bit the wrist of a male crew member. Subsequently, the CISF was called, and she was brought to the police station for legal action,” said the SHO.
The woman was booked under IPC sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (breach of peace).
“She had misbehaved with other passengers and the flight crew. When I went to assist her in deboarding, she bit me on my wrist after coming out of the aircraft,” said the crew member.
According to the police, the woman passenger, who hails from Agra but lives in Mumbai, had come to Lucknow to meet her sister. Following the FIR, the woman was sent back to her relatives.
