Bareilly: In a joint operation with the Maharashtra police, the UP Special Task Force (STF) arrested a man wanted for murder in Budaun.
The incident took place in 2013 in the Vasai area under the jurisdiction of Waliv police station in Mumbai, where Khursheed Alam Ansari, also known as Heera, killed Mahesh Kumar Ramchandra before going into hiding.
On Monday, Ansari was arrested from Budaun while on his way to Jahangirabad. Maharashtra police took him into custody and transported him back to Mumbai.
Ansari revealed to the police that after committing the murder, he fled to Delhi and then to Odisha. Earlier this year, he returned to his hometown, mistakenly believing the murder case against him had been closed.
