NEW DELHI: The Amarnath Yatra to the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine in south Kashmir will commence on June 29 and conclude on August 19. Located in a narrow gorge at the far end of the Lidder Valley, the Amarnath Shrine is 3,888 meters high, 46 kilometers from Pahalgam and 14 kilometers from Baltal.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has made extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. These include registration, convoy movement, camping facilities, medical services, upgraded tracks, and provisions for power, water supply, and mobile phone connectivity.
All pilgrims will receive RFID cards to track their real-time location and an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh. To ensure safety and minimize security concerns, the administration has issued the following guidelines:

- Avoid pushing yourself beyond your physical limits.
- Refrain from littering or polluting the trekking route.
- Do not smoke, consume alcohol, or drink caffeinated beverages.
