AGRA: A shocking revelation has emerged from Hathras district, where a 39-year-old man has approached police with a harrowing account of witnessing his mother and two brothers murder his father and bury his body in their courtyard three decades ago.
In response to the allegations, police excavated the site, unearthing a human skeleton approximately eight feet underground, believed to be that of the victim, Buddha Singh. This unsettling discovery was triggered by a recent family dispute that forced the youngest son, Punjabi Singh, to confront his traumatic past.
SHO of Musran, Vijay Singh, stated, “Samples have been sent for DNA testing. Further action will follow based on the findings.” The remains have also been sent for a post-mortem examination.
The catalyst for Punjabi Singh’s revelations occurred on July 1, 2024, during a heated argument with his two elder brothers, Pradeep Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, now in their late 50s. They reportedly threatened him with a chilling remark about sending him to join their father “just like in 1994,” which prompted Singh to revisit his painful childhood memories.
Punjabi Singh recounted to police that at the age of nine, he witnessed his mother, Urmila Devi (now in her 70s), along with his brothers and a wealthy visitor named Rajveer Singh, murder their father. He claimed that Rajveer’s frequent visits sparked conflicts between his parents. On the fateful night, he and another brother were sent to a neighbor’s house to sleep but returned home when he couldn’t rest. Upon his return, he witnessed the horrific act of his father being strangled. Following the murder, Singh alleged that his family threatened him to keep silent about the crime.
On Thursday, following a directive from Hathras District Magistrate Rahul Pandey, the remains were exhumed. Sadar SDM Neeraj Sharma, along with police personnel, conducted the excavation, and investigations are ongoing to determine the involvement of other relatives in this tragic case.
