The National Santhal Liberation Army (NSLA), an alleged militant group based in Assam, has claimed responsibility for the recent explosion of a railway track in Sahibganj, Jharkhand. The incident occurred during the night of October 1 and 2.
The group communicated their claim via a WhatsApp message, which local police have confirmed but are currently investigating to verify the sender’s identity. The damaged track is vital for transporting coal from Eastern Coalfields Limited’s mines in Lalmatiya, located in Jharkhand’s Godda district, to the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) plant in Farakka, West Bengal.
