On Saturday morning, the army reported that security forces eliminated two terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, as part of “Operation GUGALDHAR.” The operation also resulted in the recovery of war-like supplies, according to an army statement.

“Two terrorists have been neutralized during the ongoing Operation GUGALDHAR, and war-like stores have been recovered. A search of the area is underway, and operations continue,” the statement said.

The army explained that troops observed suspicious activity and engaged the terrorists, resulting in an exchange of fire. “On October 4, 2024, based on intelligence regarding an infiltration attempt, a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police was launched at Gugaldhar, Kupwara. Alert troops spotted suspicious movements and challenged the terrorists, leading to an exchange of fire. Vigilant troops responded effectively, and the operation is ongoing,” the army added.

Earlier today, security forces also thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Kupwara district. The joint operation continues, led by teams from both the Jammu and Kashmir police and the army.

Additionally, on Friday, two army personnel were injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control in Kupwara.
