AGRA: A court in Kasganj has sentenced a man, his three sons, and two relatives to life imprisonment for the murder of a 50-year-old man three years ago. The additional sessions judge, Sudhakar Rai, also imposed a fine of ₹72,000 on the convicts.
The incident occurred on October 17, 2021, when Ghamandi Singh and his sons—Dansahay, Bharat, and Harimohan—along with their relatives Puran Singh and Mahendra Singh, all from Locha in the Jalesar subdivision, fatally assaulted the victim, who was a relative.
Following the incident, Jagdish, the son of the victim, filed a case that led to the arrest of all accused. Although they secured bail months later, a thorough police investigation resulted in a chargesheet being submitted to the court.
ADGC Lokesh Sharma noted that the murder stemmed from a family dispute, with nine witnesses providing testimony during the trial. Based on the evidence presented, the court rejected the defendants’ plea for leniency and sentenced them to life in prison on Wednesday.
