GUWAHATI: An Indian Air Force (IAF) sergeant and his son have been reported missing after being swept away by the strong currents of the Kameng River in Arunachal Pradesh. Officials from the disaster management authority confirmed the incident occurred on Thursday.
Sergeant Bappi Ghosh, stationed at the IAF base in Tezpur, was with his family when they visited Bhalukpung. While playing near the river, his son, Hritik Ghosh, was swept away by the fast-moving water. In a brave attempt to rescue him, Bappi jumped into the river but became trapped in the currents.
The search operation for the duo continued on Friday, as local authorities worked to locate them.
