INDORE: Violence erupted in Indore on Friday, leaving twelve people injured and several vehicles damaged after a clash between two communities over the bursting of firecrackers. Police increased their presence in the Chhatripura area and conducted a flag march to restore order.

The conflict began when neighbors from different communities argued over children setting off firecrackers, a dispute that escalated with the involvement of local elders just 150 meters from the Chhatripura police station. Tensions flared as supporters from both sides gathered, resulting in stone pelting and the vandalism of parked vehicles. “The argument stemmed from a long-standing rivalry between the families,” explained DCP Rishikesh Meena.

The DCP urged the community to dismiss rumors and maintain peace, noting that authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible for the violence.
