A pregnant woman and her family had a narrow escape in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on Wednesday when an ambulance caught fire and exploded minutes later. The incident occurred near the Dadawadi area on a national highway as the ambulance was en route to Jalgaon District Hospital from Erandol Government Hospital.

According to reports, the ambulance driver noticed smoke coming from the vehicle’s engine and immediately stopped the ambulance. He urged the passengers, including the pregnant woman, to exit the vehicle and also warned nearby bystanders to stay clear. Moments later, the fire spread to the ambulance’s oxygen tank, triggering a massive explosion. The blast was so powerful that it shattered the windows of nearby homes, though fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. A video of the explosion has gone viral online, showing the deafening blast.

While no one was harmed, the explosion left a lasting impact, with debris scattered around the area and damage to nearby structures. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Similar Incident in Uttar Pradesh:

A similar explosion occurred last month in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, where an ambulance parked near a petrol pump caught fire and exploded. The driver, Vivek Gupta, noticed smoke coming from the engine and attempted to extinguish the flames with the help of petrol pump employees. However, the fire quickly spread to the ambulance’s oxygen tank, causing a large explosion. One passerby, Amar Jaiswal (20), was injured in the blast and was later hospitalized.

The ambulance involved in the Pratapgarh incident was not affiliated with any hospital but was a private service brought in from Delhi.
