A tragic incident occurred on the Chandigarh-Manali Highway near 4 Mile, Mandi, in Himachal Pradesh, when a family from Mumbai was touring the region. The taxi they were traveling in was struck by falling rocks, resulting in the death of the woman and injuries to her husband and the driver.
According to Sagar Chand, the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Mandi, the woman, identified as Priya, was killed instantly due to the impact of the rocks. Her husband and the driver suffered injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver has since been referred to PGI Chandigarh for further medical care.
The incident occurred while the family, visiting Himachal Pradesh for a vacation, was traveling in a taxi. Authorities are investigating the cause of the rockfall in the area.
