MUMBAI: A massive fire broke out in the slum area of Goregaon, Mumbai, on Thursday evening, according to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
“A Level-2 fire was reported in the Goregaon slums around 7:30 PM. Nearly 150-200 hutments were affected, but the fire has been successfully extinguished. No injuries have been reported,” the BMC stated.
Four fire tenders were deployed to contain the blaze, and firefighting operations were swiftly carried out.
This incident follows another fire that broke out at Freemasons Hall in Mumbai’s Fort area on February 15. No casualties were reported in either case.
