Eletson, a leading global operator of LPG and LEG carriers, has successfully implemented Dualog’s data exchange solution as part of its fleet digitalisation strategy. This transformation has strengthened operational efficiency, safeguarded data integrity, and provided real-time monitoring of data transfers across its fleet of 20 vessels.

With over 50 years of maritime expertise, Eletson prioritises cybersecurity, process automation, and traceability in its digitalisation efforts.

Michalis Kantartzoglou, IT Manager at Eletson, explains: “In our digitalisation strategy, the seamless integration of robust and standardised solutions into our IT infrastructure is crucial, and it is essential that the processes align with our cybersecurity requirements.

When it comes to data transfer, we need immediate file synchronisation across all vessels and the ability to monitor transfers fleetwide. Many tools, including custom-built solutions, failed to meet our expectations, particularly in achieving near real-time file synchronisation and ensuring data security.”

Eletson’s vessels handle a vast array of critical data, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) updates, Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) files, performance analytics, procurement requests, and operational reports. These data exchanges demand a robust system capable of managing varying file sizes, from small reports to large video files, without compromising security or efficiency.

Michalis Kantartzoglou, IT Manager at Eletson, continues: “Since deploying Dualog Drive, our data is secure and instantly synchronised across the fleet without errors. However, one of the most valuable improvements for me is the dashboard. We now have complete visibility, allowing us to monitor transfer statuses, track the volume of data sent to and from each ship, generate reports, and troubleshoot quickly across the fleet. Additionally, monitoring enables us to assess vessel performance, create KPIs, and share insights with management.”

The automation of data transfers has significantly reduced workload for both onboard and shore-based teams. Captains and Chief Engineers now seamlessly send reports and access technical documentation, while the training department efficiently synchronises materials across all vessels. Notably, more than 70% of Eletson’s data transfers occur automatically, eliminating manual intervention. Eletson’s commitment to digital innovation underscores the importance of secure and efficient solutions in modern fleet management.

Kyriakos Papapolydorou, Regional Manager at Dualog, commented: “It is very valuable for us to support Eletson in their digital transformation, help them comply with industry regulations, and optimise daily operations. Regarding our data transfer solution, we update it monthly, strengthening security, improving automation, and expanding data analysis and reporting capabilities.”

By leveraging Dualog’s cutting-edge technology, Eletson continues to drive maritime digitalisation, ensuring seamless and secure fleet-wide communication in an increasingly connected world.
