Mumbai: An autorickshaw driver sustained minor injuries when a tree from a housing society collapsed onto his vehicle in Powai on Tuesday evening. He was subsequently transported to Hiranandani Hospital for medical attention.
The mature tree, located in the compound of Jalvayu Vihar Society’s Sector B near S M Shetty School in Hiranandani Garden, fell at approximately 8:30 PM. A local resident reported that a vegetable vendor narrowly avoided injury by moving away in time.
In January, a tragic incident occurred when a 60-year-old woman lost her life, and a 56-year-old woman was injured after a branch from a dead fig tree at the Garodia Nagar Welfare Federation ground on 90 Feet Road in Ghatkopar East fell on them.
