A suicide note, allegedly authored by the man, was found at the scene, indicating that he was grappling with financial difficulties and health concerns. According to police reports, a 44-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife are believed to have taken their own lives after also ending the lives of their two children, with the tragic events occurring in Habsiguda, Hyderabad, on Monday night.

The incident transpired around 9:30 PM at their residence located on the fourth floor of an independent building in the Habsiguda area. Following a call from neighbors, officers from the Osmania University police station, led by Inspector N Rajender, promptly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. The bodies were discovered in separate rooms, while the children were found deceased on the bed.

Initial inquiries suggest that the couple first administered poison to their children before taking their own lives, as stated by the inspector.

In the purported note, the individual conveyed profound anguish regarding his declining career and deteriorating health. “No one is accountable for my death. I felt I had no alternative but to take my own life. I ask for your forgiveness. I have been facing challenges in my career and enduring both physical and mental suffering. I have been contending with diabetes, nerve-related complications, and kidney ailments,” the officer reported, citing the note, which was composed in Telugu.

“We have transported the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy and are currently investigating the matter,” Rajender stated, noting that a case of suspicious deaths has been filed.

The inspector mentioned that the family originally hailed from Mahabubnagar district and relocated to Habsiguda a year prior. The man had previously worked as a junior lecturer at a private college but had been without employment for the last six months.

“Investigations with his relatives indicated that the man had also engaged in the real estate sector for a period, during which he incurred significant losses. The extended unemployment and acute financial strain may have contributed to the tragic suicides,” the inspector remarked.

The man’s elder brother informed the police that the family had been facing financial difficulties, although all four brothers had been providing regular support. “My brother was suffering from mental depression due to financial problems,” he stated.
