A delegation from Cavotec, a leading company in the application of clean technologies applicable to sectors such as maritime, visited the facilities of the Port of Valencia. The representation was headed by the CEO of Cavotec, David Pagels and the president of the Maritime Division, Patrick Mares who were attended by the head of Land Management, Carmen García and the head of Operations, Rubén Marín of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) who made a presentation on the characteristics of the port area.
The representatives of Cavotec were able to tour some of the port facilities and learn about the operation of MSC Terminal Valencia where they were received by the director of the terminal, Sven Valentin. During the meeting, the OPS (Onshore Power Supply) and Cold Ironing systems for the port sector and the connections to the electrical grid for the ships moored in the port were discussed in depth. Antonio Torregrosa, Director of the Valenciaport Foundation, also took part in the visit.
Valenciaport has among its strategic objectives the application of new technologies in its commitment to decarbonisation and the fight against climate change with projects such as the construction of two electrical substations in the Port of Valencia.
