On Wednesday, a viral video surfaced showing Vignesh, the man who stabbed well-known oncologist Dr Balaji Jagannathan, throwing the knife used in the attack.

Vignesh allegedly stabbed Dr. Balaji Jagannathan seven times at the Kalaignar Centenary Hospital in Guindy, Chennai. Vignesh’s mother had already been treated by the doctor.

In the video, a man in a white shirt is seen casually removing a knife after the crime, wiping it clean, and concealing it to his right. He then walks quietly and drops the weapon.

In the footage, individuals in the background continuously say, “He cut him,” as security agents approach Vignesh. People may be heard shouting, “Catch him.”

Vignesh attempted to flee, but was apprehended and eventually arrested by police. He was brought before the Saidapet Court Magistrate and placed into judicial detention for 15 days.

The video shows Vignesh struggling with security, with guards detaining him while others react violently. When a bystander begins to hit him, a woman intervenes to stop the assault.

Vignesh was subsequently turned up to the police.

Vignesh allegedly suspected the doctor of administering the incorrect prescription to his mother, which prompted the attack. Dr. Jagannath, who had seven stab wounds, is being treated and is said to be stable.
