In Amethi, Lucknow, an armed attacker storms into a house and murders a teacher, his wife, and their two daughters: An armed attacker entered the home of a government school teacher in Amethi on Thursday night, shot and killed him along with his wife and their two small girls, leaving them all lying in a pool of blood.
Police stated that, despite not knowing the reason, there was no trace of forced entry and no valuables being stolen, ruling out robbery. Sunil Kumar, 34, his wife Poonam Bharti, 30, and their children Samiksha, 1.5 years old, and Shrishti, 5, have been named as the deceased.
Their remains were discovered in the courtyard of their three-month-old rental house at Ahorwa Bhawani Chowk, close to a tap. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that the offenders face harsh consequences after expressing sadness over the tragic tragedy. “In this time of sorrow, the Uttar Pradesh government stands with the affected family,” added the minister.
SP Anoop Singh stated that the event was reported by an SOS at UP 112 at approximately 7:15 p.m. “We were told that there was mayhem in the neighborhood when an armed attacker broke into a house and shot everyone inside. The victims were declared dead at the Singhpur Community Health Centre upon arrival, he claimed, despite the quick attempts to transfer them there.
“Initial investigations revealed that Sunil’s wife had filed an FIR against a local man, Chandan Verma, on Aug 18, alleging harassment under the SC/ST Act, in Rae Bareli Kotwali police station. While the police mediated a settlement between the two parties, we suspect a possible vendetta by the Chandan could be the reason behind the crime,” said an officer.
IG Faizabad Range, Praveen Kumar, said that the probe is being conducted from all angles, and so far, it appears that only one killer carried out the crime.
Local police, forensic teams, and dog squads have been roped in to gather evidence.
ADG Lucknow zone, SB Shiradkar and IG Praveen Kumar, are also monitoring the investigation, along with the Special Task Force (STF).
