Baseblue is hosting the “Innovating Bunkering for a Sustainable Future” conference as part of the biannual East Med Marine and Offshore exhibition on April 24, 2025, at Hawaii Events Hall, GrandResort Limassol, Cyprus. The event brings together industry leaders, including those from the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Cypriot government, to discuss the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in marine fuel and sustainability.
Scheduled just weeks after the IMO MEPC 83 announcements, the conference will provide exclusive insights into new shipping regulations, including EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime, alternative fuel developments, and the role of AI in marine fuel management. Notable speakers include Ioannis Efstratiou from the Republic of Cyprus, who will present key regulatory updates alongside expert panellists from ABS, the cruise sector, and leading experts in fuel technology from Bunker Holdings. Discussions will explore the future of alternative fuels such as LNG, methanol and biofuels, as well as the impact of AI-driven fuel optimisation.
Nicholas Argyrou, Key Account Director, Baseblue, said: “As the maritime industry undergoes rapid transformation, necessitating the uptake of alternative fuels, this conference serves as a timely platform for discussing innovation in bunkering. With key industry leaders and policymakers in attendance, we aim to determine actionable ideas that will shape the future of maritime fuel solutions.”
