NEW DELHI: Sanjeev Jain, MD and CEO of Parsvnath Developers Pvt Ltd, was apprehended by Delhi Police following a 60-km chase from Gurgaon to IGI Airport in Delhi.
The Special Task Force of Shahdara area executed the arrest on August 3 due to a non-bailable warrant issued against him.
Surendra Chaudhary, DCP Shahdara, stated, “The apprehension was carried out due to a non-bailable warrant issued by the joint registrar of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Delhi.”
The warrant was issued in connection with “Execution Application No. 83 of 2022 in Consumer Complaint No. 2489 of 2017, titled ‘Rajat Babbar & Anr Vs Parsvnath Developers Pvt Ltd’.”
Issued on July 18, 2024, Jain failed to appear before the commission, leading to the chase and subsequent arrest. Prior to this, four non-bailable warrants and one bailable warrant from the commission were pending against him at Shahdara police stations.
Efforts by the STF Shahdara team culminated in Jain’s capture and subsequent production before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on August 4 for further legal proceedings, according to a police statement.
