AMARAVATI: Legislators from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janasena, and BJP of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will convene in Vijayawada on Tuesday to elect TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu as their leader in the assembly.
According to TDP sources, following this meeting, NDA leaders will meet Governor S. Abdul Nazeer to propose Naidu as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Alongside Naidu, some leaders from Janasena and BJP are expected to be sworn in on June 12.
Naidu is scheduled to take the oath as Chief Minister at 11:27 AM at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport. According to the TDP’s official news bulletin, PM Narendra Modi and several Cabinet colleagues will likely attend the swearing-in ceremony.
A TDP spokesperson mentioned that some leaders sworn in alongside Naidu may be chosen on Tuesday night. The NDA achieved a landslide victory in the recently concluded simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the Southern State, securing a substantial majority with 164 Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha seats.
