The 97th Annual Convention of the International Propeller Club of the United States will be held September 26-28, 2023, after previously being hosted in Athens, Greece in 2022.
The Propeller Club of Charleston is pleased to welcome an international audience of about 200 to this year’s conference. The Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston is hosting this distinguished conference. The theme for this year is “Propelling Tomorrow with Innovation Today.”
The 3-day conference will start with a Golf Tournament to welcome attendees to the city on September 25, 2023, at Patriots Point Links. The main conference will start on September 26, 2023. The keynote speakers are VADM Joanna M. Nunan, 14th Superintendent of the United States Merchant Marine Academy; VADM Peter W. Gautier, Deputy Commandant for Operations U.S. Coast Guard; Byron Miller CCO SC Ports Authority, Jennifer Hedrick the President & CEO of Women in Trucking Association, and Dorothea Ioannou CEO at Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc., Managers of The American P&I Club. Panel discussions will be held each day and include topics such as Offshore Wind Energy, Alternative Fuels for the Maritime Industry, Women in Transportation, and Hot Topics in Cyber Security.
In addition to great educational opportunities, this conference encourages attendees to bring a guest to enjoy the Lowcountry charm of our southern city. Guest activities have been privately reserved and are exclusive to the conference group. The evenings will be filled with networking events such as the President’s Welcome Reception, A Port Tour followed by an evening on the USS Yorktown and the final night Gala on September 28 th.
