The CMA CGM Group, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions has won the Best Global Shipping Line at the 2024 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS). Voted by industry stakeholders, customers, global shippers and readers of Asia Cargo News, the accolade symbolizes their resounding confidence in CMA CGM as the global ocean carrier of choice.
“CMA CGM is honoured to be named as the Best Global Shipping Line for four consecutive years,” said Bo Wegener, CEO of CMA CGM Asia Pacific. “Our success will only come through the success of our customers, and we are grateful to have earned the confidence and satisfaction of the industry. We will continue to invest in ocean intelligence technologies and innovative sustainable solutions in order to provide the best-in-class shipping and logistics experience for shippers worldwide.”
CMA CGM enables global connectivity through 277 shipping services through a fleet of over 600 vessels and operates all transportation segments to meet customers’ needs for more resilient supply chains.
Decarbonization is at the heart of the company’s strategy, with a goal of reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2050. CMA CGM was the first shipowner to order LNG-powered vessels in 2017. The number of these “e-methane ready” ships has now climbed to 47, and the group estimates that by 2028, 95 of these ships will ply the seas. 24 biomethanol-power, e-methanol ready ships will also be available by 2028. Since the launch of its ACT+ low-carbon shipping solutions in 2020, the company has enabled shippers to opt for cleaner energies such as biomethane, biofuels or bioLNG, resulting to the reduction of well-to-wake emissions by up to 84%. CMA CGM also created PULSE in 2022, a €1.5 billion energy fund to further support and accelerate green innovations.
