During the ceremony, the first tonnes of cargo in 2023 were unloaded from the 12,649 DWT Vietnamese ship Haian Park, and from the 33,577 DWT Ever Optima, a Panama-registered ship belonging to the Ever Green Shipping Company.
General Director of the Da Nang Port JSC Tran Le Tuan said that, in 2023, the Da Nang Port targeted to increase the volume of cargo transported through the port by at least 2% compared to 2022, its revenue by at least 4 %, and its profit by at least 6%.
The port will make every effort to ensure the stable income of its employees, and well fulfill its budget payment obligation and other assigned economic and political tasks, he added.
In 2022, despite many difficulties and challenges, the Da Nang Port attracted new products and new routes. Also, major shipping lines opened more services at the port.
During the past year, the Da Nang Port focused on finding sources of goods and customers from industrial zones, central market, ad the East-West Economic Corridors Nos 1 and 2.
Importance was attached to conducting research about growth potential in Laos, promoting the brand in parallel with the city’s development policy, boosting the connections between businesses with local and central departments and agencies, researching the logistics service markets in the Northern and Southern Viet Nam, and developing plans on extending potential markets.
During the year, the Da Nang Port JSC drastically accelerated the application of information technology in production activities, thereby quickly handling procedures of goods delivery and receipt. Heed was on purchasing specialized and modern equipment, improving competitiveness, and creating optimal benefits for customers.
The Da Nang Port implemented a total of 23 projects, focusing mainly on investment in specialized vehicles and equipment, serving production and business activities. It took synchronous solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles so as to effectively realize its production and business targets.
As a result, the port’s business targets in 2022 basically met the plan as its revenue rose by 10%, and profit by 13% compared to the same period in 2021. The port affirmed its position and stature as one of the major seaports of Viet Nam.
