Lucknow: Police have filed an FIR against 20-25 individuals for allegedly committing forgery by using the logo of a prominent Lucknow eatery in their restaurant in Delhi and utilizing the services of an online delivery platform.

The FIR, lodged under Section 63 of the Cooperative Society Act of 1957, followed a written complaint from Manoj Kumar Gupta, the director of the establishment, to Vibhuti Khand police station. The complaint was registered on Sunday.

According to the FIR, Gupta alleged that several individuals misappropriated his brand’s logo and used a similar one for their restaurant in Delhi. He accused Delhi residents Deepinder Goyal, Pankaj Chadda, and 20-25 others associated with the restaurant of naming their establishment similarly to his and using the services of a food delivery app, thereby infringing upon his trademark.

“Orders being placed through the app are going to people operating a fraudulent establishment. In the event of any complaints about the quality of the food provided by them, my company’s name will be disparaged,” Gupta stated.

He further alleged, “As part of a premeditated plan, these individuals exploited the name and logo of my company by submitting fraudulent documents.”
