In a significant ruling, the additional district sessions court of Gulam Haidar in Koderma, Jharkhand, has sentenced four individuals to life in prison for the 2018 murder of Shankar Yadav, the district Congress president, and his bodyguard, Krishna Yadav. Each convict has also been fined Rs 50,000.
The convicted men, identified as Munesh Yadav, Pawan Yadav, Ramdev Yadav, and Naresh Yadav, carried out the attack in February 2018 while Shankar Yadav was returning from his mines in Bhatbigha. The assailants used explosives, resulting in the deaths of both Yadav and his bodyguard, while their driver, Dharmendra Yadav, sustained injuries.
