DEENDAYAL PORT AUTHORITY, KANDLA (DPA) in Gujarat has retained the No. 1 position in terms of traffic volume amongst all Major Ports for the 16 th year in a row. 

In the FY 2022-23, DPA has registered a growth exceeding 8.2 per cent over the previous fiscal by handling 137.56 MMT cargo, said a Port release. Mundra Port in Gujarat remained the largest cargo handling port ( among both in private and public sector Ports) during the last eight years.

The Paradip port has handled around 125 million tons of cargo highest in the east coast while Kolkata port has a turnover of around 85 million tons during the last financial year that ended on March 31st.

Chennai and VOC Port have lagged behind during this period. While Chennai handled 48 million tons VOC Port Tuticorin’s turnover was 38 million tons.
