HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai specialized in shipbuilding, announced on April 25 that it has recently signed a contract to build 2 container ships with a shipping company based in Asia.
The total order amount is 559.6 billion KRW.
The two vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Samho and is scheduled to be delivered by the first half of 2028.
Including these orders, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has received orders for a total of 31 ships worth 4.89 billion USD to date, achieving 27.1% of the annual order target of 18.05 billion USD (provisional).
By ship type, the company has received orders for 1 LNG carrier, 4 LNG bunkering vessels, 4 LPG/ammonia carriers, 2 ethane carriers, 16 container ships, and 4 tankers.
