Himani Narwal Murder: On Sunday, the Haryana Police established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the murder of 23-year-old Congress worker Himani Narwal. On Monday, authorities announced the arrest of an individual linked to the case. According to a senior police official, the suspect, who hails from a village in Jhajjar district, was acquainted with the victim. The police plan to present the individual in court and request remand to uncover the motives behind the brutal murder. Initial investigations suggest that a personal dispute may have existed between the accused and Narwal. Narwal’s remains were discovered in a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand along the Rohtak-Delhi highway on March 1. Following the incident, the Haryana Police mobilized four teams from Rohtak to pursue the perpetrators, as reported by PTI. Narwal resided in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak, and her body exhibited several injury marks, according to police reports. Narwal’s family has declared that they will not proceed with her cremation until the assailants are apprehended. Her mother, Savita, expressed concerns that certain leaders within the party may have harbored jealousy over her daughter’s rapid political ascent. “It could be anyone in the party who was envious of her rise or it could be someone else entirely,” Savita stated, accompanied by her son Jatin. Haryana Congress leaders have characterized Narwal as a committed and proactive party member, noting her participation in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi. They highlighted that she was pursuing a law degree and had been involved with the party for nearly a decade. Savita emphasized that her daughter devoted herself to the party, often working late into the night.
