When we say, ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’, we are indicating that not knowing things or being unaware is more comfortable than knowing it. As dubious as the expression is, sometimes it is probable in certain situations. In regards to professional life, one’s attitude defines his/her success. On one hand, it is acceptable to ignore unnecessary interference that would hamper the work, while on the other, failing to examine what is crucial for one’s betterment will adversely impact the performance and growth. This is applicable in real life as well, knowing when to react or stay confidential is very crucial.
Whether professional or personal, certain things have to be considered, whereas, few can be neglected without a second thought. Many of us wonder a lot but there are only a few who question. The only difference is the one who wonders a lot believes that he knows it all while the one who questions, craves to know more. Knowledge about certain things can be of great advantage. Moreover, happiness is independent. Anyone can be happy in their ways, it can be found anywhere. It is completely up to ignorant or knowledgeable individuals whether to be happy or disheartened.
Surely, I am not denying that sometimes, ignorance is more desirable than knowledge. Ignorance certainly helps us to hold on to the things that matter the most to us. In real life, it keeps us connected to our people and ourselves. But one needs to recognize the seriousness of knowing things beforehand that will be of great help to avoid the obstacles in near future.
I feel the phrase ‘Ignorance is bliss’ entirely depends on how you take it. For me, it is impractical to keep my eyes shut to every happening but it is certainly required when I am dealing with the people around me. Also, acquiring knowledge does not always mean something bookish or of the world, it can be an experience or understanding. It is directly influenced by one’s perception of a scenario or circumstances. Although the knowledge we acquire is filtered according to our convenience, it might devoid the essence of acknowledgment. Today, great minds are seen less because the majority of our population is ignorant. Usually, what we are incapable of accepting or realizing, regardless we accept or deny it, is the human tendency.
Ignorance as they say is usually fatal, but sometimes it can be bliss!
