KOLKATA: Two men are accused of drugging and gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in the Beniapukur neighborhood close to Kolkata’s Park Circus on Tuesday, just three days before Valentine’s Day. Additionally, the accused tried to blackmail the victim and captured the assault on camera on their cell phones. Based on technical clues, police detained the two within hours after her accusation.
According to the police, one of the defendants, whom the kid knew, feigned a romantic relationship with her. “Under the guise of commemorating ‘Promise Day,’ the main accused enticed her to the second accused’s residence. In front of a buddy, he advised her to make a commitment to stick together. There, he allegedly added sedatives to her soft drink,” a senior Beniapukur PS officer stated, citing the technical leads.
