DEHRADUN/PITHORAGARH: A hostel room has been left empty in a Bhubaneswar neighborhood. Its door, which is identical to the others along the hallway, is still locked. Within, the individual touches that once characterized the area have vanished, leaving no indication of the young lady who hoped to establish a future there. But the name Prakriti Lamsal reverberates outside these walls. Students are protesting in Odisha. in the PMO, government offices, and among Nepal’s student communities in Kathmandu. Nothing was done about her complaints: Dad of the dead KIIT girl Sunil Lamsal, Prakriti’s father, looks for answers in the days following her passing, clinging to the hope that India will bring justice to his daughter. “Both nations have upheld the roti-beti ka rishta since the time of Ramayan,” he said.
