A 25-year-old butcher is accused of strangling his live-in spouse to death in Jharkhand’s Kunti district forest and chopping her body into 40 to 50 pieces, according to police.
Naresh Bhengra was detained after the Jariagarh police station discovered a stray dog with a mangled human hand near Jordag village on November 24, almost a fortnight after the murder occurred.

The male had been in a live-in relationship with the victim, a 24-year-old woman from the same area in Tamil Nadu, for several years.

He returned to Jharkhand a while ago, married another woman without telling his partner, and returned to Tamil Nadu without his wife to accompany her.
“The terrible incident occurred on November 8 when they arrived at Khunti, and the accused, who had married another woman, refused to take her home. Instead, he brought her to a forest near his house in Jordag village, Jariagarh police station, and cut her body into pieces,” claimed Khunti SP Aman Kumar on Wednesday.
Inspector Ashok Singh, who investigated the matter, told PTI that the man worked at a butcher shop in Tamil Nadu and was an adept at slicing chickens.
Bhengra reportedly admitted to slicing up the body pieces and placing them in the forest for wild animals to feast on.
“According to the arrangement, the man drove her to Khunti in an autorickshaw near his residence and asked her to wait. He came back with sharp weapons and strangled her with a dupatta after raping her. “He then cut the body into 40 to 50 pieces and went home to live with his wife,” Singh explained.
After the body pieces were recovered, a bag containing the victim’s things was discovered, including her Aadhar card. The woman’s mother recognized them as her daughter’s stuff.
