The completion of the Type-B tank for VLEC is a technological breakthrough for Jiangnan shipyard and a milestone for its self-developed Type-B Cargo Containment System called BrilliancE.
B-tank is the most important part of a VLEC, the successful completion of the main structure for the first tank will ensure the construction and timely delivery of the first vessel,” said Hu Keyi, director, technology department of Jiangnan Shipyard.
Jiangnan Shipyard is the only Chinese shipbuilder capable of researching and developing, designing and constructing the entire series of liquefied gas carriers, which is capable to build VLEC equipped with Type-A, Type-B, Type-C and Mark III tank.
