A 38-year-old man, Tabrz Pasha, who was accused of murdering his wife on August 2, has died after falling from the roof of a house in Kolar district. Police are investigating the incident as a possible suicide.

According to Chamarajpet police inspector K Manjunath, Pasha had been charged with the murder of his wife, Fatima, in Chamarajpet. The couple, who had been married for nine years and had two children, were involved in an ongoing family dispute with a divorce case pending in court. On the day of the incident, Pasha allegedly stabbed Fatima during an argument. After the crime, he fled, turned off his phone, but later went live on Facebook, describing the murder.

Pasha initially took refuge in a mosque in Kolar and then at his aunt’s house in the same district. The Chamarajpet police had dispatched three teams to locate him. On Monday, one team found his location, but Pasha reportedly jumped from the second floor of his aunt’s house before he could be apprehended. His body was discovered early Tuesday morning by a passerby.

The Kolar rural police have filed an unnatural death report under section 194 BNS, and investigations are ongoing. Pasha had a prior charge for chain snatching reported by Cottonpet police in 2019.
