On 29-12-2021, the Board of Trustees of the Maritime Training Trust has decided to provide financial support of rs. 100,000/- per Indian women Seafarers who are undergoing pre-sea courses in the DGS approved Maritime Training Institutes (MTIs).
Maritime Training Trust is a charitable trust registered with the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai. the trust consist of five trustees (Directorate General of Shipping and Additional Directorate General of Shipping as ex-officio Trustees, two Trustees as nominees of Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), and one Trustee nominated by the DGS in consultation with Indian Shipowners)
List of pre-sea courses Eligibility of getting financial support from Maritime Training Trust is as under:
- B.Sc. Nautical Science
- Diploma in Nautical Science
- B.E/B.Tech. Marine Engineering
- Pre-sea Training for Graduate Mechanical Engineers
- Pre-sea Training for Diploma Mechanical Engineers
- Electro-Technical Officers
- Pre-Sea Training for General Purpose ratings
- Pre-Sea Certifiacte Course in Maeritime Catering
In this regard, the SOP to be followed by the MTIs is enclosed in Annexure 1 and SOP to be followed by Indian Maritime Women is enclosed in Annexure 2, which are available on the DG website.
All the MTIs are requested to submit the request for financial support for Individual Women Seafarers for the year 2021-22 starting from April 2021, along with the required annexures/documents to the Maritime Training Trust on or before 31.01.2022
