Taiwanese owner Wisdom Marine Lines has inked an agreement with Metizoft for its IHM Maintenance Solution for its fleet of 124 bulk carriers.
Consulting company Metizoft specialises in documenting hazardous materials onboard vessels for compliance withInventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM). The process involves both the initial documentation and then maintaining a database when spare parts are added to the vessel for repairs and maintenance.
“Metizoft, by far, offers the most comprehensive IHM maintenance solution. With their long proven track record, we know we are in good hands”, said Tsaur Shuang-Chau, Chief Technical Officer at Wisdom Marine Lines.
IHM is required for compliance with the EU Ship Recycling Regulation (EU SRR) and the Hong Kong Convention (HKC) for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships. It has been mandatory for under the EU SRR since the end of 2020 for EU-flagged vessels, and ships of all flags calling EU ports.
