This October, Indian authorities have ramped up their efforts against drug syndicates, resulting in significant seizures of cocaine and other narcotics amounting to over ₹15,000 crore.

In a major operation on Sunday, the Special Cell of Delhi Police and Gujarat Police seized 518 kg of cocaine valued at approximately ₹5,000 crore from a pharmaceutical factory in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. Investigators are questioning the factory’s owners as they delve into a suspected international smuggling network. This seizure marks the fourth major cocaine bust of the month.

Massive Drug Seizure in South Delhi

On October 1, the Special Cell conducted a raid in Mahipalpur, South Delhi, seizing over 562 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, with a combined estimated worth of ₹5,620 crore. Four suspects were arrested, leading to the apprehension of two additional individuals in Amritsar and Chennai during follow-up investigations.

Drugs Hidden in Snack Packets in West Delhi

On October 10, another significant bust occurred in Ramesh Nagar, West Delhi, where 208 kg of cocaine valued at ₹2,080 crore was found concealed in snack packets labeled “Tasty Treat” and “Chatpata Mixture.” The drugs were cleverly hidden in approximately 25 plastic packets within cartons at a rented shop.

Drug Manufacturing Operation Dismantled in Bhopal

Additionally, a major drug manufacturing operation was uncovered in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on October 6. In a joint effort by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), authorities seized 907 kg of mephedrone (MD) worth ₹1,814 crore from a factory in the Bagroda Industrial Estate. This facility, capable of producing 25 kg of MD daily, is reported to be the largest illegal drug production unit dismantled by the Gujarat ATS. Two suspects were arrested in connection with this operation.
