Ocean Network Express (ONE) has ordered 27,500 new reefer containers in response to growing global demand.
The order for 27,500 reefer containers by the Singapore-headquartered line includes 850 boxes equipped with controlled atmosphere technology.
ONE said the global reefer trade had showed strong resilience in 2020 and that this has continued into 2021.
Hiroki Tsujii, Managing Director, Marketing & Commercial in Ocean Network Express (ONE) said :“ONE now has one of the largest and youngest reefer fleet in the world, equipped with the most advanced technologies designed to handle perishable cargo demand.”
ONE is working on an IoT application to provide real time visibility of information such as the temperature and humidity inside the container.
Alliance partner Hapag-Lloyd recently order 150,000 new dry and reefer containers.
