Testament to its operational efficiencies and capabilities, PIL has
successfully delivered a special cargo of two ISO tank containers with TSD racks from Nansha, China to Port Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia on 11 April 2023.
It was a specialised operation involving loading and unloading of the ISO tank containers over two vessels. The shipment was first loaded on PIL’s Kota Gaya departing Nansha on 27 March 2023 and arriving in Singapore on 1 April 2023. The tanks were then transferred to Kota Dunia on 9 April 2023 departing Singapore for Port Kuching. On 11 April 2023, the tank containers were discharged safely and smoothly at Port Kuching, Sarawak.
ISO tank containers are specialised cargo which are unable to fit inside a
conventional container. Such tank containers are used to ship and store materials such as liquids, powders, and gasses.
PIL is happy to have been able to support its customer in the timely delivery of this special shipment, as it stands ready to offer more customers this special service which aims to provide customised care to unconventional cargo such a break bulk, Out of Gauge cargo and Project Cargo on an “end-to-end” basis. This is in line with PIL’s aim of Driving Connectivity and meeting the changing needs of its customers.
