BENGALURU: On Monday morning, a 38-year-old software engineer and his wife allegedly committed suicide after murdering their two children in Bengaluru’s affluent RMV Second Stage suburb.
Police named the deceased as a five-year-old girl, a two-year-old boy, and their parents, Anup Kumar and his wife Rakhi, 35.
The couple originated from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, and had been living in a rented residence for several years.
Kumar worked as a software consultant for a private organization. The cops believe the pair took the extreme measure due of financial problems.
Shekhar H Tekkannavar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), said the incident was discovered when the couple’s domestic assistant arrived at work in the morning.
The maid knocked on the door, but there was no response, so she peered through the window and saw the family dead. She called the neighbours and then the cops.
The Sadashivanagar police, together with the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) squad, have arrived at the house to collect evidence. The couple was found hanging, and the children are suspected of having been strangled.
A note was discovered in the residence, and our team is validating the information included in it, according to a senior officer. The cops have called Kumar’s office and coworkers.
