Maritime welfare charity Sailors’ Society is delighted to announce the appointment of the former General Counsel and Company Secretary for INTERTANKO, to its Board of Trustees.
Michele White, who oversaw the corporate governance of INTERTANKO, is a UK-qualified solicitor and company secretary. Michele’s career in the maritime sector includes working in the marine litigation department of Norton Rose Fulbright and the UK P&I Club, where she was involved in both claims and senior management roles.
Michele said: “I am very pleased to be joining the board of Sailors’ Society. Our seafarers are all very special individuals who play a quiet but crucial role in all of our lives. I am proud to be working with such an important charity that directly supports the welfare and wellbeing of seafarers everywhere.”
She joins a board of six trustees who oversee the work of Sailors’ Society, one of the largest and most comprehensive seafarers’ support charities in the world, reaching out to more than 200,000 seafarers, their families and communities in need every year.

Having worked in the maritime sector for more than 30 years, Michele has great experience of the industry and vast knowledge on all aspects of maritime law, including advising on the many challenges faced by seafarers.
