NEW DELHI: Security forces, in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Police, successfully neutralized a heavily armed terrorist in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by the army on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Chinar Corps, the operation resulted in the recovery of significant weaponry, including an AK rifle, two AK magazines, 57 rounds of ammunition, two pistols, three pistol magazines, and other military equipment.
Earlier that day, the Chinar Corps had initiated a joint anti-infiltration operation in response to intelligence reports indicating a possible infiltration attempt. “Based on intelligence inputs regarding a likely infiltration bid, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police along the Line of Control in the Uri area of Baramulla. Alert troops noticed suspicious activity and challenged it, leading to the terrorists opening fire indiscriminately. Our vigilant troops effectively returned fire. The operation is ongoing,” the Chinar Corps stated.
