Chitradurga police arrested six Bangladeshi nationals on Tuesday for residing and working in the city with fake documents. The individuals were employed in private garment factories.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police B. Dinakar, a raid was conducted on suspected Bangladeshi nationals in the area, where 15 people were detained. Upon interrogation, it was revealed that six of them were using forged documents to live and work in India.

The police uncovered fake Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, labor cards, and bank accounts linked to Kolkata. The accused had been employed in various states using these counterfeit identities. The police raided their residences in Chitradurga district on Monday and apprehended the suspects.

The accused individuals—Sheikh Shaipur Rahman, Muhammad Suman Ali, Mazarul, Azizul Sheikh, Muhammad Saqib Sikdar, and Sanwar Hussain—aged between 22 and 29, had illegally entered India from Bangladesh through West Bengal several years ago, intending to settle in the country.

The police have sent the accused to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Bengaluru for deportation and further legal action. In addition to the fake identification documents, the police seized PAN cards, a passport, and other fraudulent paperwork.
