ThPA S.A. has the honour to host the leading event organized annually by the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO). The 21st edition ESPO Conference is to be held for the first time in Thessaloniki, on 8 and 9 May 2025, at Makedonia Palace Hotel, attracting a number of distinguished speakers and participants.
The ESPO Conference is the key platform for dialogue and networking among European ports, industry stakeholders, policy makers, and port industry experts. This year’s edition focuses on the European Union’s new strategy for ports, their role in strengthening Europe’s global position, and their adaptation to the European agenda on economy, energy, competitiveness, and resilience.
Hosting this important conference in Thessaloniki highlights the international role of the city and its port. At the same time, this development is a practical recognition of the actions and initiatives of ThPA S.A. to promote an international outlook and create synergies at international level. In this context, the Port of Thessaloniki, a port of International Interest, with a crucial role in the wider Mediterranean and South-Eastern Europe region, emerges as a focal point for the European port community.
The ESPO Conference is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
