GURUGRAM: Police have arrested three men for allegedly strangling their flatmate and co-worker, Pushpendra (25), following a heated argument at their residence in Khoh village, Gurugram, on December 10.

The accused, identified as Sarjan alias Ali, Ramanand alias Billu, and Ajit alias Binny, all from Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, reportedly used an electric cable to kill Pushpendra, who hailed from Aligarh and worked at a factory in Sector 3, IMT Manesar.

The incident came to light when Pushpendra’s sister, Chandresh Kumari, alerted police around 4:30 a.m. on December 12. She stated in her complaint that her brother had frequently mentioned conflicts with his roommates over trivial issues and had even received death threats during arguments.

On the day of the incident, Chandresh received a call from one of Pushpendra’s roommates, claiming he had fallen in his room and was unresponsive. Upon rushing to his residence from Dundahera, where she lived, she found Pushpendra’s lifeless body with visible injuries on his throat and immediately informed the police.

Inspector Devender of IMT Manesar said, “A forensic team collected evidence from the scene, and the body was sent for an autopsy. The investigation revealed that the accused, while drinking with Pushpendra on the night of December 9-10, got into an argument over chicken curry. Pushpendra allegedly forced them onto the terrace, where they stayed in the cold. Between 3 and 4 a.m., they returned to the room while he was asleep and strangled him with an electric wire.”

The accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. A murder case under Section 103(1) of BNS was registered against them.

The three were produced in court on Thursday and have been remanded to judicial custody.
